Beyond phenomenal and awesome! Dennis was terribly underrated and never fully appreciated! This definitely rivals the Beatles music!😊❤
He sounds really vulnerable like he's really hurting inside. GBDW GBNF . ❤
What's with the spoken "Come now release your inhibitions now" mixed under the chorus at 1:43? Some kind of subliminal shit he picked up from Manson or what?
That's Mike Love speaking, being the cornball he always is. Can't stand anyone else getting attention. About as "with it" as someone from his parents' generation would be. Always known for being pretty lame, even inappropriate. This song was recorded about a year and a half before Dennis met Manson.
capto el sentimiento
Beatles fan here. Much respect to the Beach Boys. Dennis did a damn fine job here. Most impressive.
thanks for preserving this
*never learn not to cease to exist*
The first BB to pass ... too much to drink and drowned by some boat docks diving to get something off the bottom. What a waste.
Dennis had an amazing voice

Love you Dennis. Thanks for your presence when you were here. God bless
Dennis and John, two awesome souls taken from us FAR too soon!
Ryan,John was a year older when he passed.
This guy was a jerk. Ruined a Beach Boys concert I attended and never forgot. He would get up from the drums in the middle of a song and get a beer from a cooler off stage. This must have happened often as The Beach Boys had a back up drummer ready the hit the drums within seconds. Then instead of going back to his job, he would bang on Brian Wilson’s piano during GOD only knows. The Beach Boys are better off. Shitty thing to say but true.
He was an alcoholic during the times you're talking about.
@@FishyTheKid who cares. A loser is a loser.
@@anomalous9448 describing someone as a loser for one bad event you experienced is moronic
@@FishyTheKid fish. It was not one event. One event for me. Numerous efforts were made to straighten him out. Do you think he was drunk when he drown?
@@anomalous9448 you are calling him a loser but he was a literal beach boy. He lived a great life and achieved many things. It's a tragedy his life ended so soon. I'm not sure why you're arguing about this. You sound bitter and miserable about someone who never knew who you were.
Imagine being able to sing this well yet having two brothers who sang even better
I can't tell whether or not that's a compliment. 🤔
That was really good.
I was a teenybopper in love with Denny from the first ... "First we start with Denny on the drums"
Maybe Lennon's most underrated masterpiece.
Arguably on a serious level in the back of my mind is probably on a very serious level, the best early beach boys song. There’s almost nothing that compares to it out of those albums and then every time he took the reins, he killed it.
Great cover.
This is off the party lp i believe..great album....he did Lennon very well here
Well done Dennis good version
Excellent cover
Well done.
I saw Dennis Wilson sing this at the Boston Garden on Friday, November 26, 1965. It's the only song I remember as the crowd seemed to quiet down a bit when Dennis stepped to the front of the stage to sing it. There was so much screaming the rest of the night you couldn't tell one song from the next.
I bet they were all screaming for Dennis.
00:57 handsome man wow
Glad you got this! Anything else from the show? I’d love to hear Shakin Street from the acoustic set.
Best cover of the show 😁
What a show this was. RIP Dick Dale. A true legend.
A beach boy singing a Beatles song. Love it. ❤ Love you Dennis 💗 god bless you 😢
I'm sure Beatles' version was a cover too.. I may be wrong though
@@MrClean3381 No. It was an original Beatles song by John Lennon.
They also covered With a Little Help From My Friends as a whole band.
Gorly Hallelujah
Something about this guys voice that was so unique and different than his brothers. Should have been more involved than just as a drummer imo.
He really did the Beatles justice to this song. The fact that the boys could cover Beatles material with ease and the Beatles could never do a Beach Boys song is telling. The Beach Boys were a far better vocal group but lyrically were not as good as them.
Barbershop singer on acid! Just joking, they were great. BTW I think that was a Jimi Hendrix quote.
I don't agree that The Beach Boys were a far better vocal group. The Beach Boys couldn't come up with This Boy, Because, Baby's in Black, I Don't Want to Spoil the Party or the kind of genius that comes up with the harmonies near the end of And Your Bird Can Sing and I Want to Tell You. The Beatles were also nicer vocalists solo. The Beach Boys sound much better together than by themselves. On top of that, the two lead vocalists of The Beatles could pull off a hell of a lot more styles than any one of The Beach Boys. Paul McCartney's range was unbelievable both technically and stylistically. Can you really imagine a Beach Boy pulling off the vocal acrobatics of songs like Helter Skelter or Oh! Darling? What about the grit heard in tracks like Twist and Shout and Don't Let Me Down (Lennon)? Yet The Beatles could also sing softly and beautifully. She's Leaving Home, Here, There and Everywhere... gorgeous. These are all top tier vocal performances. Conversely, the lyrics found on Pet Sounds surpass much of The Beatles' material, but then again... those words weren't written by any Beach Boys. The Beatles could easily pull off The Beach Boys' songs. It's not a matter of not being able to... they never even tried - at least outside of messing around in jams. They had their own original songs that obliterated anything The Beach Boys wrote outside of a few singles and Pet Sounds. Why would they need to cover their rival's lesser material? Then we get to a conversation about musicianship between the two bands, and it's immediately evident who comes out on top there...
Early McCartney was very good but his voice went stale and worn after the Beatles, Lennon was nothing more than a screamer and the single most overrated one at that. Harrison… nah, Ringo… double nah.
@@pauldrew3696Lennon was listed in Rolling stone magazine's 200 best rock singers of all time, he was like #6, lol. Meanwhile Peter Cetera from Chicago wasn't even on the list. And no one can deny Peter's vocal skills.
@@lamarravery4094 i remember seeing that list and of course it means or proves absolutely nothing. The very fact that it ranks Lennon 6th is an all time joke imo.
One of my favourite covers that our Boys did. All good lads! 🙂
1:44 is that Mike Love speaking during the fucking song??!
Lol he just couldn't help himself.
Mike being Mike. Can't stand anyone getting the spotlight other than himself.
Close your eyes and imagine Mahalia Jackson Open your eyes it's Joshua Nelson
Great actor and he clearly has some pipes too.
For Dave Brockie to make that comment was a sign of respect for another brother in the music scene. If he didn't care about you in some way, he wouldn't have even mentioned you. Dave Grohl pretty much just told all these people that he loved him back through his memory. RIP Dave Brockie
Is this the version on the party album without the party sounds?
